Prerequisites: First Degree (Shoden) and Second Degree (Okuden) in any Reiki lineage.
Often people have been initiated into a system of Reiki but did not learn explicit instructions for doing full body treatments and the additional treatment methods for specific health disorders. Others may not have sufficient practice experience to feel confident in giving Reiki treatments. For some, their prior Reiki system training was years ago and has been forgotten and they want a refresher course. Performing Reiki treatments on the general public also requires knowledge of Medical Ethics. This course addresses all of these issues and is for Reiki practitioners who desire to completely and thoroughly learn the treatment format passed down from Hawayo Takata in the system of Usui Shiki Reiki Ryoho.
This course is designed for existing Reiki students lacking the training or experience in how to give a professional Reiki treatment – including the standard hand positions, optional hand positions for specific disorders, the Second Degree symbols, how to perform mental/emotional treatments, and absentee (distant) treatments. There will also be a discussion on Medical Ethics which is required for all healthcare professionals.
This is a great way for Reiki students of any lineage to be able to learn the Usui-Hayashi-Takata treatment method and not feel like they are starting over again or that their previous Reiki initiations or training is being invalidated.
Unlike the First Degree (Shoden) and Second Degree (Okuden) classes, no initiations are given during this course as students should have already received the Reiki initiations during their previous First and Second degree classes. Likewise, the course will not cover the history of the Reiki system in depth. Rather, this course concentrates on gaining hands on practice experience, learning the treatment methods for different medical conditions, medical ethics, and tips for a professional practice. (Students who feel they would like to receive the Takata initiations in the system of Usui Shiki Reiki Ryoho should instead attend the First Degree (Shoden) and Second Degree (Okuden) classes.)
The Certified Reiki Practitioner course is taught over 2-4 days and consists of four sessions. Each session is three hours each, totaling 12 hours of instruction and practice. Prior registration is required.
