First Degree (Shoden)

In this immersive course, you’ll develop the confidence and skills to use and apply Reiki. Applying Reiki by the touch of your hands is one of the foundational aspects in this system.

Reiki is Cosmic Life Energy. The traditional system which empowers an individual to access and use this Reiki is called: Usui Shiki Reiki Ryoho.
One aspect of this system is a hands on healing practice that can be used on yourself, on others, in private practice, and in public health settings. Another aspect of this system is a Spiritual Practice, allowing our minds and our hearts to re-connect.

Practicing allows our inner conflicts to dissolve and we enter the state of Anshin Ritsumei – absolute inner peace. The system of Usui Shiki Reiki Ryoho is a complete system for unifying and healing the body, mind, and spirit.

It is by practicing the system of Reiki (Usui Shiki Reiki Ryoho), that we find it easier to live the Reiki Precepts:

Just for Today, I will let go of worry.
Just for Today, I will let go of anger.
Just for Today, I will be grateful.
Just for Today, I will do my work honestly and with diligence.
Just for today, I will be kind to all things that have life.

Whether you want to practice Reiki for your own healing purposes, hope to supplement your massage or medical work, or are thinking of becoming a Reiki Master – the First Degree is the perfect place to start.

Here, you’ll find a focused, supportive environment where you’ll be introduced to core Reiki practices, learn the fascinating history of Reiki, and embark upon your own journey of healing and discovery.

Students emerge from the First Degree with a comprehensive understanding of Reiki, and the skills to move forward to the Second and Third Degree if desired. First Degree is an invaluable skill to have for your own personal growth and well-being.
